Rwandan president Paul Kagame extended his diplomatic charm to the younger generation as he hosted members of the Ntare School Old Boys Association in Rwanda capital, Kigali on Friday, March 8 at the Kigali Convention Centre.
The alumni association were given a VIP status treatment with full security lead cars right from the Uganda- Rwanda Kyanika Border to the capital city, Kigali. The evening was crowned with a cocktail hosted by President Kagame.
The activities of the association would officially be announced by the Rwandan Presidency social media channels.
“The Ntare League finale comes ahead of the opening of Ntare School in Rwanda which is set to start operating this year,” the President’s office announced on X.
Kagame and Ugandan counterpart President Yoweri Museveni are old boys of the school located in Mbarara, Western Uganda. The two presidents are patrons of the school which they attended in the 1970s.
The old boys of the distinguished school are in Kigali for the finals of Ntare Lions football tournament, among other activities.
According to a statement released by the association, the event in Kigali brings more than 500 former Ntare School students from Rwanda and Uganda for a weekend of football, cricket, rugby, and golf, in a spirit of camaraderie and cultural exchange.
