Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has opened the auction of uncleared vehicles at Mombasa Port, Kenya enroute to Uganda.
The public auction follows the expiry of a one month ultimatum issued February 13, 2024 to owners of uncleared vehicles at the port that exceeded the statutory clearance period.
“This is to alert every interested party that the vehicles that remained uncleared are now up for the URA public auction,” reads URA’s statement.
Interested participants in the auction are advised to participate in the online viewing from 14th -19th March 2024 on singlewindow.go.ug/auction while bidding will run from 20th – 25th March, 2024.
According to the notice, successful bidders will be required to clear the overdue storage fees before the vehicles are handed over to them by the custom officials at Mombasa Port.
Bidders are also required to pay 10 dollars as administrative fee which is not refundable.
