Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba mobilizers MP Lilian Aber, the Kitgum Woman MP and music promoter Balaamu Barugahara have been appointed as ministers in the new cabinet announced Thursday evening.
Aber is the new Minister of State of the Prime Minister in charge of Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees.
Music promoter and staunch Muhoozi mobilizer Balaamu has been appointed the Minister of State for Gender, Labour and Social Development (Youth and Children Affairs).
Meanwhile Yoweri President Museveni dropped Karamoja Affairs minister Mary Goretti Kituutu replacing her with son of the soil and veteran politician Hon Peter Lokeris.
Museveni also dropped Agnes Nandutu replacing her with Wamala Nambozo as the new State Minister for Karamoja. The duo’s woes are related to the famous Karamoja iron sheet scandal in which the line minister purportedly diverted the use.
In another replacement, Museveni dropped Minister for Defence Minister Ssempijja for Markson Oboth Jacob.
Museveni also dropped Gen Wilson Mbadi as gbd the Chief of Defense Forces and appointed him as Minister of State for Trade and Cooperatives replacing him with Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
The shake up in the military is reportedly attributed to the reports of corruption in the army especially in Somalia.
Gen Moses Ali maintained his position as the 2nd Deputy Prime Minister of government business in Parliament. Museveni also maintained Robinah Nabbanja as the Prime Minister.
Phiona Nyamutoro, the National Female Youth MP has been appointed state minister in charge of minerals.
