NUP Party opens Leadership school

The National Unity Platform (NUP) has launched a leadership academy where politicians in the making and those in office will be equipped with knowledge on how to manage their political careers.

This has come at the time when a number of politicians, especially at the lower level, lack knowledge of what to do during their political tenure, rendering them redundant.

Speaking to the media shortly after the launch of the NUP leadership academy located at the former NUP headquarters in Kamwokya, NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu says they intend to equip their members with knowledge regarding the party ideology and integrity issues.

Kyagulanyi adds that as a party they have opened the school to bridge the current knowledge available for politicians after the political education course was scrapped from the syllabus sending politicians that are not well-trained to engage in political activities.

“As part of our efforts to guide our country through the inevitable political transition ahead, the NUP school of Leadership is purposed to be a factory from which a new generation of leaders shall emerge. Leaders who shall not only be able to resist the temptations of power, but will also work to dismantle the structures that enable them…” Kyagulanyi later posted on X.
