Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja arrived in electrifying style in Kiyaga Zone Bwaise 1, this evening where she addressed thousands of excited NRM supporters as she campaigned for the party’s flagbearer Faridah Nambi.

With the highly contested Kawempe North by-election just days away, Nabbanja’s presence underscored the ruling party’s determination to reclaim a constituency that has long been a stronghold of opposition politics.

The rally filled with chants of “Nambi for Kawempe North” saw party supporters draped in yellow and chanting pro-NRM slogans, gathered dancing and waving NRM flags as the Prime Minister made a grand entrance.

Addressing the crowd, Nabbanja urged voters to rally behind Nambi emphasizing that an NRM victory would bring much-needed development, better services and government support to the area.

She emphasized the need for development in Kawempe North, urging voters to choose a leader who can work directly with the government to bring better roads, schools and healthcare services.

“This is the time to vote for progress, not protests,” she declared, taking a swipe at opposition leaders who have historically dominated the constituency.

The event filled with music, dancing, and visible displays of state power also drew criticism from opposition voices who accused the ruling party of using government resources to influence the election.

With Kawempe North known as a stronghold for the National Unity Platform (NUP), the battle between Nambi and her opponents is shaping up to be a fierce political battle.
