Kyambogo, Kampala – A group of energetic youth aligned to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party under the stewardship of Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo has officially launched a nationwide campaign slogan “Settle for M7 is the Best.” at the Office of the National Chairman in Kyambogo.
The initiative, unveiled today at the ONC offices in Kyambogo, seeks to counter increasing opposition propaganda ahead of the 2026 general elections. The campaign is being held under the theme “Settle for Best – M7 Is the Best: Say No to Protest Vote,” and aims to consolidate support for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
The atmosphere at the gathering was anything but ordinary. Chanting pro-Museveni slogans, and waving posters high into the Kampala sky, these young loyalists sent a clear and thunderous message that their candidate for the next presidential election is none other than President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Uganda’s long-serving leader.
Hundreds of enthusiastic bazzukulu from various sectors turned up for the launch, which featured music, speeches and mobilization messages urging Ugandans to reject protest voting and instead reaffirm their support for the NRM and its long-serving leader.
Speaking at the event, Hajjat emphasized the importance of unity within the party and vigilance against what she termed as “divisive tactics by the opposition aimed at misleading the public.”
“Some people want to use your hunger, your pain, and your struggles as fuel for their personal political ambitions,” thundered Hajjat Namyalo at the podium. “We are here to remind you that a protest vote is a vote for chaos, and Uganda has seen that movie before!”
She emphasized that voting should be driven by reason, not rage. “Uganda is not a lab for political experiments,” she added.
The campaign is expected to roll out across the country in the coming months as the NRM gears up for yet another showdown at the polls.
The choice of Kyambogo, a symbolic hub of NRM’s administrative strength, wasn’t coincidental. This launch comes amid a politically charged environment where opposition camps are also mobilizing for what promises to be a defining election season in 2026.
Sources close to the organizing team revealed that the slogan “Settle for M7 is the Best” is more than a tagline, it’s a youth-driven movement to push for continuity, stability and what they claim is unmatched leadership experience.
2026 general elections are already taking shape with increasing momentum. From opposition figures calling for a “protest vote” to growing civic demands for reforms and accountability, the political theatre is heating up.
President Museveni, now in power since 1986 remains a towering figure in Uganda’s political landscape. However, his continued stay in power has also sparked growing debate among Ugandans especially with a youthful population hungry for change.
Political analysts are divided. Some view this campaign as a calculated strategy to renew Museveni’s appeal among the youth, a demographic critical to any candidate’s victory. Others argue it reveals the NRM’s dependence on recycled messaging and orchestrated loyalty in the absence of fresh, youth-oriented policy shifts.
The campaign slogan launch is expected to be followed by countrywide mobilization drives, digital campaigns and perhaps an official endorsement by senior NRM leaders.
Meanwhile, some NRM youth supporters were seen fighting over T-shirts during the event.
