Museveni Holds Talks with DRC Special Envoy

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has met with Floribert Anzuluni Isiloketshi, the Special Envoy of the Democratic Republic of Congo, for discussions focused on regional security and the situation in eastern DRC.

The meeting was held on Today at Museveni’s Kisozi Farm, where the two leaders discussed issues of mutual interest, with particular attention to efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in eastern Congo.

Museveni said security and stability in the Great Lakes region are important for the prosperity of the people.

He added that Uganda will continue working with regional partners to address the challenges affecting eastern DRC.

Eastern Congo has faced years of insecurity caused by the activities of armed groups, resulting in displacement, loss of lives, and ongoing humanitarian challenges.

Regional countries have continued to seek diplomatic and security solutions to restore lasting peace in the area.

The meeting comes as efforts continue among Great Lakes region countries to strengthen cooperation and find ways of addressing instability in eastern Congo.

Museveni emphasized the importance of working together with regional partners to promote peace, security, and development for communities affected by conflicts in the region.
