Uganda’s National Drug Authority (NDA) is hosting the International Society of Pharmacovigilance (ISoP) at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
For three days conference will run between 22nd to 24th July 2024, and will be the first of its kind on African continent.
ISoP is a professional, independent non-profit society, open to anyone with an interest in the safe and effective use of medicinal products and effects of drugs on users in Africa.
The conference brings together regulators, researchers, representatives from industry and other stakeholders in pharmacovigilance across the African continent.
The meeting has brought together over 300 participants from across Africa to discuss issues pertinent to medicine safety.
Through the regional and country chapters, ISoP supports management of country and regional specific pharmacovigilance challenges.
Pharmacovigilance is the process of monitoring and ensuring the safety of drugs, vaccines and other medical products.
The goal of pharmacovigilance is to identify potential safety issues early and take prompt action to protect public health.
