The Secretary General of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, has applauded the government of the People’s Republic of China for its continued support towards Uganda’s development, particularly through infrastructure investments and human resource capacity building.
Todwong made the remarks on Tuesday during a meeting with a high-level delegation from the Communist Party of China (CPC), held at the NRM Headquarters located at Plot 10, Kyadondo Road in Kampala.
The CPC delegation was led by Ms. Rao Huihoa, Director General of the International Liaisons Department. Their visit to Uganda aims to explore avenues for deepening cooperation between the CPC and NRM, especially in the area of human capital development.
“We discussed a significant number of fraternal interests,” Todwong said. “We extended our gratitude to the Communist Party of China for consistently standing with the NRM and the majority of African revolutionary parties, particularly in building their capacities.”
Todwong praised China’s role in transforming Uganda’s infrastructure landscape, noting that such efforts have been instrumental in enhancing connectivity, trade, and access to public services across the country.
The visit by the CPC officials underscores the longstanding bilateral relationship between Uganda and China, as well as the ideological solidarity shared between the two ruling parties.
